Raised in Ocala and shaped by Dallas’s vibrant music scene, singer-songwriter Jenna Clark returns home with Deja Vu, an album rooted in stories, wisdom, and the fleeting beauty of life.
Born and raised in Ocala, singer songwriter Jenna Clark has carried music with her like a constant companion. She first picked up a guitar at age 11 under the guidance of local legend Nolan Drudge, who helped lay the foundation for what would become a lifelong pursuit.
By the time she was 21, she had set her sights on Dallas, Texas, where her twenties unfolded against a backdrop of vibrant music scenes, smoky songwriter circles, and the kind of creative community that leaves an indelible mark. “Music has always been the one thing I’ve been sure of,” Clark says. “My parents often hosted songwriters growing up, and even though they didn’t have much, they carried wisdom and stories that stuck with me. That spirit of storytelling is what drew me in.”
Clark’s catalog reflects the breadth of her influences and experiences. Her first album was a raw experiment shaped by the soulful production of friends in The Texas Gentlemen. Her follow-up, a country record, pulled from the pioneers of early recorded music and the countless artists she crossed paths with in Texas. Now, her upcoming album, Deja Vu, channels the poetic depth of Joni Mitchell’s catalogue while carrying her own voice forward with honesty and clarity.
Produced, mixed, and mastered by her longtime friend and collaborator Nik Lee, the project represents what Clark calls her best work yet. Over the years, she’s gathered a handful of career-defining moments— hearing her songs on the radio for the first time, recording in revered Texas studios, and stepping onto the stage at the storied Kessler Theater in Dallas.
But for Clark, inspiration isn’t limited to milestones. “I gain influence from everything around me—everyone I’ve met and every place I’ve been,” she says. “If you listen close enough, music is everywhere.”
Now back in Ocala, Clark is looking ahead, eager to share Deja Vu with the world. It’s a record born of years on the road, countless conversations, fleeting loves, and a deep respect for the impermanence of it all, a reminder that even as life shifts, music remains.
