Delva One Construction brings craftsmanship, discipline, and heart to Ocala’s evolving landscape

Before there was Delva One Construction, there was a goal—and a deadline.

In 2019, while living in San Francisco, JD and Bridgette Delva set out to purchase their first investment property in Ocala within 90 days. The timeline was ambitious, but the pull was personal. Ocala was already familiar territory for Bridgette, and the couple saw both opportunity and meaning in putting down roots there.

When the world shifted during COVID and remote work became the norm, they made their move. What began as an investment plan quickly evolved into something more enduring: a hands-on construction business grounded in experience, discipline, and trust.

That foundation was built long before the company officially took shape. JD brings a deep technical background, having worked across nearly every corner of the construction industry, from project management to high- and low-voltage electrical. Bridgette’s path ran through corporate operations, where she spent more than two decades in supply chain and leadership roles before stepping away from her position as a VP to focus fully on the business. Together, their partnership operates with a kind of internal symmetry—precision on one side, systems on the other.

An early turning point came years prior, in Roswell, Georgia, where the couple took on their first “fixer.” What started as a move-in-ready home quickly became a full gut renovation. They lived in the house while working full-time jobs, spending nights and weekends rebuilding it piece by piece. It was demanding, but clarifying. “We found out that we can actually work together and still like each other,” they say. “That’s when we knew.”

That same mindset of treating every project as if it were their own now defines Delva One Construction. It’s a philosophy that resists shortcuts. “If we can’t do it right, we won’t do it,” they explain. The standard goes beyond meeting code or following plans. Instead, they measure success by a more personal metric: whether they would feel confident having their own family live in the finished space.

That perspective shapes their approach to what they call “affordable luxury.” While quality and budget are often seen at odds, Delva One starts with disciplined purchasing—acquiring the right property at the right price—so that the build itself doesn’t require compromise. Their ability to self-perform electrical work adds another layer of control, allowing them to move efficiently, manage costs, and reinvest savings into the final product.

One of their most meaningful projects to date is known simply as “The Fire House,” their first investment property in Ocala. What began as a renovation quickly expanded into something closer to a full rebuild, complete with engineering plans, structural changes, and a new addition. Much of the work was completed alongside family and friends, after hours and on weekends. The result is more than a finished home—it’s a reflection of the company’s roots: hands-on, collaborative, and deeply invested.

As Ocala continues to grow, Delva One has chosen to grow with it, deliberately. The team has turned down opportunities outside the area, opting instead to focus on the community they call home.

“There’s a level of accountability that comes from living where you work,” they say. “We’re serving our neighbors.”

That connection carries through every phase of a project. Transparency, communication, and respect are not just ideals but daily practices—whether coordinating with subcontractors or guiding a homeowner through the process. Clients are kept informed, expectations are clearly set, and the work itself is approached with care for both the structure and the people behind it.

Looking ahead, Delva One Construction is expanding in multiple directions. New initiatives include a real estate investment mentorship program, growth within their electrical services division, and the launch of a nonprofit arm, Team Delva Cares. It’s an ambitious trajectory, but one that feels consistent with their path so far—measured, intentional, and steadily building.

At its core, the company remains what it set out to be: a family-run operation shaped by shared effort and a clear sense of purpose. Or, as they put it, “We’re just a family-run team that loves what we do—we work hard, play hard, and really care about the impact we’re making in our community.”
