After years of balancing music with everyday life, Becky has stepped fully into her calling.

Ocala native, Becky Hudson has always felt at home here in Central Florida. After a period living in Gainesville and connecting with a wide circle of artists, she eventually returned, finding renewed purpose in the region’s growing creative community and the natural landscape surrounding it.

Music has been part of her life since childhood. Encouraged by her family, she grew up surrounded by classic country, oldies, her father’s guitar and banjo playing, and her mother’s guidance on the keyboard. By her early teens, she was learning songs from tablature and discovering artists ranging from Nirvana and Björk to Billie Holiday and Ella Fitzgerald. Songwriting developed naturally, blending early poetry with melody as a form of personal expression.

For years, music remained a secondary pursuit alongside traditional work. In 2015, an opportunity to perform with a Gainesville big band in a local pub led to the formation of Swing Theory, a turning point that strengthened her identity as a performer. Not long after, a job loss became an unexpected pivot point, ultimately leading her to pursue music full-time and do what she was “born to do”.

Today, Becky performs across Florida, including appearances with the Ocala Symphony Orchestra and at major regional arts events. Through her band and Arts in Health work, she brings music into community spaces including schools, care facilities, and veteran programs.

She is now focused on recording and releasing original music shaped by both classic influence and modern sound which you can follow along at www.BeckyBaby.com.
